James Wilson

Frightened Cellar’s
Destroy The Fear That Forms You

With users in over 100 countries, it’s time to check in to see what some of them are up to. This week’s user spotlight we have James Wilson who is the musical genius known as Frightened Cellar. He is taking the country by storm with his album Destroy The Fear That Forms You. James has been using Tracks to capture the tour experience.

1 – So James, tell us a little about yourself.

I am a singer/songwriter living in Brooklyn.  I am originally from a
very small town in rural Iowa, and moved to New York when I was 21. In
2009 I moved to Japan and lived there for a year after the deal with
my record label went sour.  Last year I completed my debut solo album
as Frightened Cellar with the help of my fans via Kickstarter.  After
the release, ASCAP gave me a Writer’s Award for my contributions to
American Popular Music.

2 – What brought you to Tracks?

It’s such a great tool for touring musicians. The map feature is so
cool. You can easily track your tour and have photo documentation of
the whole trip.

3 – Wanna tell us about some of the tracks you’ve made so far?

My favorite track is the one we made on our tour. We took photos and
videos in every city and at various sites along the way. It was a lot
of fun, and made it really easy to add content to our websites and
blogs. I’ve also made tracks for a couple nights out in New York and

4 – With whom do you share your tracks with?

I shared the tour track with the other musicians we went on the road
with, and some friends in New York and the cities we played.

5 – What do you like most about Tracks?

I love the map. It really makes tracks a must-have for any touring
band. I also like that the photos save directly to my camera roll when
I take them in Tracks. That makes it super easy to upload them to my
blog, websites and social networks. The filters are also very cool.
